Tarot cards have traditional symbols, and traditional imagery. Most decks’ images bear some similarity to one another. I’m most influenced by the Morgan Greer deck, which was my first and remains my favorite deck. This card repesents partial loss, and the card in the Morgan Greer deck looks a lot like this.
The color in the foreground was called “autumn” and was supposed to be a brown. I don’t know if it’s due to overfiring, or a glaze characteristic, but in places it turned spring green. Reminds me of another glaze, called “evergreen” which is sometimes reddish brown and sometimes deep green, depending on how slowly it cools.
