Annoying: The Science of What Bugs Us by Joe Palca
This is the sort of book I tend to revert to when I need something to read, the way other people go for their favorite imprint of romance or their favorite mass-market paperback author. Pop science about a field tangentially related to neurology? I’m there.
I liked this book. It had enough science to make me feel like I learned something, and enough anecdotes to keep it from feeling boring. A lot of the factoids were ones I had red in articles or in other books, but I think this book has been out for a while, so that’s not too surprising. It’s not world-shaking, but it’s a fun read.
